About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build the security function from scratch
- Own ISO 27001 compliance and turn vulnerability management into a continuous process
- Build processes to detect, prioritize, and continuously patch vulnerabilities
- Own GDPR and related security compliance, including policies, controls, documentation, and audits
- Decide where to implement controls and where to accept and contain risk, documenting trade-offs
- Support teams in meeting customer security and compliance requirements
- Establish security foundations and promote security habits across engineering
- Report to engineering leadership and work closely with IT and Infrastructure teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in security compliance or information security
- Ideally experience in a tech company of 200–500 people, or in fintech, payments, or banking
- Hands-on experience leading ISO 27001 certifications or audits
- Solid knowledge of GDPR
- Track record of designing or running vulnerability management and patching processes
- Ability to make pragmatic risk trade-offs and explain them clearly to engineering and leadership
- Ability to build lasting processes and bring an independent perspective on security in a product company
- Fluent in English
- Italian is a plus
