General Counsel

• Research and analyze a broad range of legal issues, including new and evolving subject areas
• Translate legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for business and project teams
• Identify legal risks and help develop practical solutions supporting mission-driven decision-making
• Counsel internal clients on matters affecting NMDP’s mission, operations, and strategic priorities
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues and coordinate with outside counsel and consultants
• Review, analyze, develop, and implement policies and procedures involving legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy, confidentiality, and operational risks
• Work with departments and project teams to develop legally compliant practices, procedures, and workflows
• Gather, organize, and synthesize stakeholder information for policy and procedure documents
• Support information management policies, standard operating procedures, and retention schedules
• Advise on the receipt, handling, use, disclosure, and maintenance of confidential, sensitive, or regulated information
• Provide legal support for clinical research, trials, studies, innovation initiatives, informed consent, participant protections, privacy, and regulatory requirements
• Draft, review, file, and negotiate selected legal documents and correspondence
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives
• Help manage outside counsel, consultants, and legal support resources
• Assist with internal investigations, dispute resolution, litigation, and risk-management matters
• Provide legal research and advice to Compliance, Regulatory, and Quality teams, including cell and gene therapies activities

Associate General Counsel

Marketing

• Develop and execute data-driven B2B marketing initiatives based on product insights and market research
• Contribute to lead generation by aligning marketing and sales enablement objectives and providing engagement tools and resources
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Community Physicians, Apheresis, Collection, Donor Centers, Cord Blood Banks, and partner organizations
• Participate in industry groups, forums, or conferences and act as an NMDP subject matter expert as needed
• Work cross-functionally on initiatives affecting audience perception across IT, enablement, field staff, and other teams
• Create annual marketing plans for segmented B2B clients and secure leadership buy-in
• Oversee campaign execution, including content creation, channel management, performance measurement, and reporting
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Research, IT, and other departments to integrate marketing strategies with organizational goals
• Manage relationships with external agencies and partner organizations
• Develop measurement tools for real-time performance assessment and optimization
• Manage budgets for assigned business units and initiatives
• Mentor and develop junior team members through coaching and guidance
