Key responsibilities & impact- Own the data platform end to end, including pipelines, Airflow, dbt, and the Redshift warehouse
- Design, operate, and improve AWS data infrastructure
- Investigate pipeline failures and incorrect data, identify root causes, and prevent recurrence
- Ingest data from multiple sources, clean and model it, and make it accessible for users
- Make data architecture decisions covering warehouse design, scalability, and cost
- Document architecture decisions and the rationale behind them
- Partner with Platform engineers on upstream product data model changes
- Build new pipelines and harden existing ones
- Take day-to-day ownership of pipelines and dbt
- Support the migration to Airflow
- Translate business questions and stakeholder requirements into data systems
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and internal stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related role
- At least 2 years at a company operating at meaningful scale
- Strong SQL and Python, with Python used for data processing and pipeline work
- Hands-on experience with dbt
- Experience orchestrating production pipelines with Airflow or similar
- Working knowledge of AWS
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse, such as Redshift
- Good instincts for warehouse and system design
- Ability to turn stakeholder requirements into code and systems
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly
- Experience moving pipelines onto Airflow or a similar orchestrator (nice to have)
- Experience in fintech, wealth management, or regulated environments (nice to have)
- Experience with document processing or AI/ML data pipelines (nice to have)
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must not require sponsorship now or in the future
