Key responsibilities & impact- Administer and optimize VMware virtualization environments (vSphere/vCenter), including cluster lifecycle, resource management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain and support production PostgreSQL and MongoDB database environments
- Manage enterprise SAN, block, and file storage infrastructure, including capacity planning, performance diagnostics, and array maintenance
- Administer and harden Ubuntu/Debian Linux servers across production and staging environments
- Oversee Commvault enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including retention policies, automation, and disaster recovery tests
- Automate operational workflows and standardize infrastructure using Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git with an IaC mindset
- Support BCP/DR initiatives
- Participate in a structured on-call rotation to guarantee high availability of mission-critical systems
- Collaborate with platform, security, and development teams
- Maintain, automate, and scale core on-premises and hybrid infrastructure spanning virtualization, storage, Linux, and database clusters
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering (on-premise / data center / hybrid environments)
- Deep technical knowledge of VMware vSphere and vCenter administration and troubleshooting
- Operational experience with database clusters (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) — maintenance, replication, backup/restore, and health monitoring
- Strong practical administration skills in Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) — performance diagnostics, security hardening, and log analysis
- Proven experience with enterprise storage concepts (SAN, zoning, multipathing, performance tuning)
- Practical experience with enterprise backup platforms (Commvault preferred or equivalent)
- Hands-on scripting and automation skills: Ansible, Bash or Python, and version control (Git)
- Solid understanding of high-availability architectures and BCP/DR frameworks
- Readiness to participate in paid on-call rotations and occasional travel to data centers
- Good technical English (spoken and written, min. B2 level)
- Experience in high-availability, low-latency environments is a plus
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible AWX, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure is a plus
- Awareness of NIS2, ISO 27001, and GDPR is a plus
- VMware, Red Hat, storage, or backup certifications are a plus
