Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand people-related business problems and gather relevant people data
- Apply statistical models and data science methodologies to analyze recruiting, hiring, promotion, retention, pay equity, productivity, and organizational effectiveness
- Translate data and insights into visualizations and stories that drive strategy, action, and decision-making
- Align research priorities with business priorities while maintaining a customer-focused stakeholder approach
- Lead compensation analytics informing Total Rewards decisions on pay, compensation structure, and talent awards
- Partner with Employment Legal and Total Rewards on legally sensitive compensation analyses
- Lead the design and measurement of Airbnb's quality-of-hire metric with Recruiting
- Own sensitive statutory and governance reporting
- Use AI, including AirPanda and LLM-based agents, to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and synthesis
- Teach and contribute to advancing data science, people analytics, and Airbnb
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of industry experience
- Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field
- Deep experience with causal inference on observational data
- Experience with quasi-experimental research design and analysis
- Proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis
- Proficiency in SQL for data access
- Familiarity with survey design and analysis
- Experience applying data science to compensation, recruiting, or broader workforce and organizational questions
- Experience working with legally sensitive data
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross-functional partners of varying technical levels and drive impact
- Experience working with large practical datasets
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
