About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare lessons using provided material and customize instruction based on student needs
  • Create a risk-free environment where students can make mistakes and experiment with the language
  • Motivate students to achieve their language goals
  • Document student progress after each lesson
  • Use the Berlitz Method of instruction
  • Provide Portuguese language instruction to students supplied by Berlitz

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Teaching experience is a plus but not required
  • Expert-level Portuguese
  • Advanced level English
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Minimum 15 Mbps download speed and 15 Mbps upload speed
  • Stable wired internet connection; Wi-Fi is not sufficient
  • PC or laptop running Windows 11 or higher, or macOS 11 or higher
  • USB headset and camera
  • Backup system for devices in areas where load shedding occurs
  • At least 2 GHz base processing speed
  • RAM equal to or above 8 GB
  • Commitment to providing 15–20 hours per week
  • Must keep original schedule for the first 3–4 months
