Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop high-quality, efficient, testable software for key product features
- Own features end to end, from design documents and reviews through acceptance testing and deployment
- Understand and contribute to the evolution of the overall system architecture and wider ecosystem
- Lead feature development across multiple microservices and teams
- Contribute input and direction to the product roadmap
- Favor pragmatic, incremental enhancements that support long-term goals
- Review code, provide best-practice feedback, improve readability, and anticipate issues
- Research, benchmark, and prototype new TTS and STT engines and models
- Compare TTS and STT solutions on accuracy, latency, naturalness, language coverage, cost, and operational fit
- Work with the Engineering Manager to assess architectural implications of new technology
- Mentor team members and serve as a leader and role model
- Apply processes for data security, traceability, and information sharing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related work experience
- 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering
- Excellent programming skills, particularly in Java
- Working experience with REST API back-end services
- Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming and design
- Cloud Native application development, preferably AWS-based
- Familiarity with Voice Bot Platforms and voice concepts
- Understanding of microservices architecture principles and best practices
- Experience working with remote engineering teams
- Experience working on research projects and turning high-level direction into meaningful demos or proofs of concept
- Proactive, self-driven, and possessing a growth mindset
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong collaboration and listening skills
