About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate presses to cut, shape, and design metal of various sorts and gauges
- Load and unload metal coils
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions or irregularities
- Fix machines to run and operate properly
- Perform preventative maintenance on presses
- Follow applicable safety procedures and request help from co-workers when needed
- Handle finished parts and products properly to prevent injury or damage
- Follow operational instructions when operating tools and equipment
- Perform quality checks
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Load machines with metal coils and ensure machines do not run out of materials
- Locate products
- Monitor product quality
- Perform housekeeping at the machine
- Complete production reporting
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery
- Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Hi-Lo Certification preferred; will be trained and certified on the hi-lo
- (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be able to clear drug screen and background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to complete all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, reach, use hands, and talk and hear
- Ability to regularly stand, walk and/or sit and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must wear required hearing and/or eye protection
