About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete maintenance service requests across multiple trades
- Provide excellent customer service and promote a quality living experience for residents
- Perform required work respectfully in residents’ homes
- Complete regular ProCare visits for proactive maintenance and repairs
- Complete visit checklists in the mobile app and schedule the next ProCare visit
- Educate residents on Invitation Homes expectations and the functional systems of their rental home
- Complete property condition assessments and alert property management when immediate attention is needed
- Review Technician-specific reports to identify improvement opportunities
- Perform repairs in vacant properties during marketing or the turn process
- Properly use and care for company-supplied tools, materials, and vehicles
- Review next-day appointments daily to ensure equipment, materials, information, and time are available for first-visit completion
- Adhere to Invitation Homes safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-5+ years’ proven experience in residential repairs and maintenance, other building maintenance or related experience
- OSHA 10 is required; new hires have up to 90 days to complete certification if not already certified
- EPA Certification: Type I, Type II, and/or EPA Universal is a plus
- HVAC Certification is a plus
- CPO certification (pool) is a plus
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills; multilingual is a plus
- Comfort using mobile devices such as iPad or iPhone and various mobile applications
- Understanding of residential construction and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform general repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, minor HVAC, and appliances
- Current driver's license, automobile insurance, and other licenses or certifications required by state law
- Regular and consistent attendance, including occasional weekends and holidays
- Ability to provide basic hand and power tools
- Ability to perform frequent climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing
- Ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and operate standard maintenance equipment
