About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform quality repairs on rotating equipment in the assigned unit
- Ensure work activities comply with HSE, production, quality, maintenance procedure, and OEM requirements
- Perform skilled maintenance repairs and visually inspect and test equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements to ensure reliable machinery operation
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment
- Discuss machine-operation variations with supervisors, maintenance workers, and operations personnel to diagnose and repair equipment
- Assist Operations with operational tasks as needed
- Locate problems using equipment observation, precision measuring instruments, and testing instruments
- Detect and repair defective parts and materials
- Determine dimensional and process-performance changes using precision instrumentation
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices with hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
- Assemble repair parts using machine-shop instrumentation and equipment
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Complete end-of-job documentation communicating reliability improvements and job-package productivity improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum qualification: recognized Trade School degree, relevant certification (NCCER, NICET, NETA, ISA, relevant military) or equivalent, plus 3 years’ relevant experience; OR a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in discipline in Millwright
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician with knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods is preferred
- High pressure experience is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, sketches, repair manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Willingness to work across craft lines and multi-craft with other disciplines
- Willingness to flex to other crews and rotate job assignments
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, call outs, and shifts
- Desire and ability to safely perform essential job functions
- Willingness to learn new skills, take on challenges, and seek information from others
- English; additional language preferred
- Computer skills, including typing and SAP knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Strong oral and written communication skills
