About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive projects forward independently throughout design and construction phases
- Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers
- Oversee production of mechanical designs, systems, and drawings
- Collaborate with cross-discipline design teams, owners, contractors, clients, vendors, and external disciplines to develop drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams, and manufacturers
- Select and schedule major equipment
- Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission critical projects
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Valid Mechanical P.E. license preferred
- Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
- Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
