About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the full product-line lifecycle from introduction through controlled end-of-life
- Define launch criteria, target segments, success metrics, and successor products
- Maintain a structured portfolio of product variants and prioritize investment
- Build prioritized, time-boxed feature roadmaps aligned with capacity
- Balance compliance updates with growth initiatives
- Translate vertical requirements into engineering language
- Conduct trend scanning, competitor analysis, and customer-feedback synthesis
- Define launch plans, positioning, pricing, training, and documentation
- Coordinate Sales, Marketing, and Support alignment
- Provide technical expertise for complex, regulated deals
- Onboard and manage terminal manufacturers, component suppliers, and certification labs
- Oversee SLAs, operational forecasting, defect escalations, contract negotiations, and supply-chain risk mitigation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in product management, ideally with portfolio or product line ownership in fintech, payments, or hardware-enabled software
- Understanding or familiarity with payment certification and compliance topics (PCI, EMV, ep2) is a strong plus
- Experience or strong interest in specific industry verticals
- Track record in market research and competitor analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution- and customer-oriented approach
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Comfortable managing internal stakeholders and external supplier relationships
- Fluent in English and German
