About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and support exterior services and landscaping requirements at designated Walmart locations
- Operate as a DOT driver and secondary driver as needed
- Perform mowing, blowing, weed treatment, trash pickup, winter project work, and driving
- Assist facility repair teams during slow seasons
- Operate the department and perform assigned job-related duties
- Comply with Walmart policies, OSHA and EPA regulations, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines
- Control costs through price comparisons and submit warranty claims
- Complete expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and other forms
- Lead, coach, and evaluate third-party providers
- Conduct quality assurance inspections
- Provide customer service to facility users and resolve problems and complaints
- Evaluate replacement needs and implement facility improvements and sustainability upgrades
- Source tools and equipment and ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements
- Use heavy machinery and powered equipment
- Prepare budgets, develop project cost estimates, approve purchases, and verify receipts
- Develop capital expenditure lists and scopes of work for landscaping, snow events, case cleaning, and shopping cart maintenance
- Perform seasonal snow and ice management, including operating snow removal equipment and applying de-icing materials
- Maintain vehicles, coordinate required maintenance, and arrange alternate driving support
- Safely operate motor vehicles, verify required documents, and inspect vehicle condition
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance
- Secure and park assigned work vehicles according to Walmart policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 21 years of age or older
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
- No preventable accidents under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire
- Ability to read and speak English
- 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
