Key responsibilities & impact- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation system components
- Perform seasonal irrigation system maintenance, including winterizing and spring start-up procedures
- Operate heavy machinery, vehicles, and specialized tools during maintenance tasks
- Respond to work orders, prioritize assignments, and document activities using electronic devices and written reports
- Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and trailers
- Coordinate with managers, coworkers, and external partners to meet service expectations and timelines
- Support facility exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management
- Maintain safe, clean, and operational Walmart facility exteriors
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 year's experience in material handling equipment, or related area, OR 2 years' Walmart store experience
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation system components, including controllers, valves, piping, and heads
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, vehicles, and specialized tools safely and effectively
- Skilled in troubleshooting irrigation systems through pressure testing, trenching, and equipment adjustments
- Strong knowledge of seasonal maintenance procedures such as winterizing and spring start-up
- Competence using electronic devices to complete work orders, update logs, and maintain accurate documentation
- Commitment to following safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with managers, coworkers, and external partners
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs and facility requirements
- Preferred: experience in landscaping/irrigation with plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
- Preferred: experience interpreting design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Preferred: experience with water conservation practices
- Preferred: proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish
- Preferred: state/local licensing where required
