Key responsibilities & impact- Develop secure, efficient, and highly available frameworks and platform capabilities that simplify infrastructure complexity
- Optimize and enhance existing systems to improve availability, efficiency, and AI-native adaptability
- Develop APIs and tools for service management and provisioning at scale
- Use and extend open source projects such as Kubernetes and Argo CD, contributing improvements upstream when beneficial

Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building developer platforms or infrastructure interfaces such as APIs, CLIs, or declarative configuration at large scale
- Deep understanding of some of: Kubernetes, cluster lifecycle, infrastructure automation, public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), and IaaS offerings
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging skills
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
- Experience building AI agents that use tools or APIs and evaluating their behavior, contributions to open source infrastructure projects, and experience building Kubernetes controllers are ways to stand out
