About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review management system manuals and associated documentation for compliance with requirements and applicable codes and/or standards
- Plan, schedule, and conduct initial, surveillance, and re-certification audits
- Prepare and maintain audit logs and all other required documentation
- Prepare and issue reports and recommendations for certification
- Lead introductory and closing meetings at client facilities
- Maintain audit independence
- Complete audit reports and other required post-audit activities
- Perform other necessary duties within experience and capabilities as required
- Report to the Operations, Country, or District Manager; no direct reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering/technical discipline, or equivalent quality experience
- Previous experience with Social Accountability, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Environmental, or Safety & Health related activities, including auditing experience
- Minimum three (3) years of industry experience, typically in Health & Safety (risk management) and/or knowledge of labor legislation
- Previous experience with Social Accountability audits including SA 8000 (must), SEDEX, SMETA, and CSR
- Familiarity with appropriate system standards
- Competence in the areas to be assessed
- Comfortable with extensive domestic travel (50%+)
- Excellent decision-making and organization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with moderate supervision
- Teamwork
- Concern for accuracy and timeliness of work performed
- Flexibility in achieving duties
- Working knowledge of the SAI and/or SEDEX databases
- Ability to obtain working knowledge of the ABS Quality Evaluations Quality & Environmental Management System
- APSCA CSCA status preferred
