About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards
- Complete Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients
- Lead roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvement projects and studies
- Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county, and state clients
- Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects
- Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors, and public agencies
- Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed
- Collaborate with Baxter & Woodman’s diverse disciplines and offices within transportation and construction fields
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or ability to acquire within 6 mos.)
- 5+ years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects
- Knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation)
- Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills
- Ability to work within a team-first culture
