Key responsibilities & impact- Own quality for the assigned product area as part of a cross-functional team
- Focus testing on product areas where failures would most harm ConsumerAffairs and its customers
- Review tickets and designs before development begins
- Identify ambiguity, missing acceptance criteria, and untested edge cases
- Set up, run, and maintain AI-driven test agents
- Critically review AI test-agent results and verify test reliability and risk coverage
- Perform exploratory testing beyond scripted tests
- Investigate whether failures originate in the application, test, data, environment, or integration
- Log clear, reproducible defect reports with evidence and impact
- Collaborate with developers until defects are resolved
- Maintain staging and QA environments, test accounts, and test data
- Run smoke tests on daily production releases and raise risks when evidence does not support confidence
- Develop an end-to-end understanding of ConsumerAffairs systems, services, and integrations
- Improve QA processes, standards, tooling, and test coverage using production issues and lessons learned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience creating and managing the testing process with AI tools being the primary interface
- Quality Engineering mindset and ability to evaluate whether AI-generated tests are appropriate and identify coverage gaps
- Built and maintained AI agents and prompts that write, run, or maintain automated tests
- Ability to critically review AI test-agent output
- Comfortable with Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and resolving merge conflicts
- Ability to build and maintain automated UI and API tests with a modern framework, currently Playwright
- Experience testing REST APIs
- Ability to write SQL queries to check data
- Ability to use browser DevTools and logs for debugging
- Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Experience with staging or QA environments, test data setup, and Docker
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing practices
- Ability to manage context shifts throughout the workday
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Sense of ownership for internal and external customer experience
- Takes responsibility for results and shares outcomes transparently
- Results-focused
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
