Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for industrial products, controllers, sensors, actuators, and edge devices
- Develop configuration tools, desktop or web applications, and services for device management, data processing, and diagnostics
- Design data flows, APIs, and communication patterns for connecting devices, gateways, and applications
- Work across device, edge, and application layers, define interfaces, and resolve integration issues
- Contribute to software architecture and make pragmatic technology decisions with a focus on reliability, maintainability, security, and product requirements
- Further develop automated tests and improve build, integration, and release processes, including hardware-related testing where required
- Collaborate with customer engineers, Product Owners, and interdisciplinary teams to translate manufacturing requirements into working software
- Advise manufacturing-industry customers on embedded, application, and IoT solutions and support their technical implementation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems (ETH, university of applied sciences, university, or higher technical college)
- Practical experience in embedded software development with C/C++ on microcontrollers, Embedded Linux, or comparable platforms
- Experience in application development, ideally with C#/.NET
- Experience with Rust or other technologies is welcome
- Knowledge of connecting devices, gateways, and applications, as well as working with interfaces and data flows
- Proficiency in debugging, version control, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Ability to explain technical possibilities clearly and collaborate closely with customers and software, hardware, and product teams
- Very good German and good English skills
