About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment, including small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills, punch presses, power brakes, shears, and saws
- Set up machining machines and make adjustments
- Perform maintenance on machines
- Check work using prescribed gauges, jigs, and fixtures to measure close tolerances
- Operate or work with numerically controlled machines
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience
- OR Apprentice graduate/Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience
- May require certification
- Ability to climb ladders and work at extreme heights
- Ability to work in small, tight, or confined spaces
- Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb daily
- Ability to lift heavy objects weighing 40 lbs. or more
- Ability to repeatedly reach overhead
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Ability to take and pass a respirator fit test
- Ability to work assigned shift as production needs
