Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events from a wide range of devices
- Perform general operations maintenance support on security tools and agents
- Process and correlate highly technical information from multiple sources to support investigations
- Stay current with cybersecurity vulnerabilities, exploits, malicious activities, trends, and countermeasures
- Provide periodic on-call security operations support during non-business hours
- Assist with scanning systems for known vulnerabilities and support remediation
- Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities
- Identify areas of risk and assist with mitigating those risks to an acceptable level
- Maintain knowledge of vendor products, services, and security technologies and recommend or implement their use
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to work activities during business hours
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Knowledge or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite or Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and Windows 10/11
- Knowledge of Cisco LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP
- Knowledge of endpoint detection and response tools, automated systems management, vulnerability management tools, password management tools, and email server security
- Knowledge of office productivity software, popular browsers, security-related software analysis and protection, and other business applications
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
- 4+ years of experience in a technical support role or job-related experience supporting security-related technology in a diverse technology environment
- Experience with SIEM or other scalable log management solutions, including configuration and tuning
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and reporting, such as Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7
- Experience monitoring and administering security controls such as firewalls, web filters, and antivirus solutions
- Current SANS and/or other security certifications preferred
