Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end modelling and transformation of domains in dbt and Snowflake
- Define modelling methodology with the existing Analytics Engineer, including grain and dimensional patterns
- Make models agent-ready through rich semantics, consistent naming, business descriptions, and safe querying
- Own streaming and near-real-time pipelines alongside batch transformation
- Establish coding, agentic-coding, testing, and documentation standards enforced through CI
- Optimise warehouse performance and cost, including query patterns and materialisation choices
- Deploy and supervise autonomous agents against the data stack
- Monitor data infrastructure and integrate it with incident.io and PagerDuty, including escalations, SLAs, and documented processes
- Support and mentor analysts in analytics-engineering practice
- Refactor the warehouse for agents and reduce its cost
- Build the post-AI data stack with agent-readable artifacts, agent-operated tools, owned context, and a consistent company data reality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three or more years of production dbt
- Production experience defending modelling methodology, including grain, facts, dimensions, and appropriate use of wide tables
- Production experience with a semantic layer; ability to explain metrics, dimensions, grain, joins, and agent accessibility
- Experience owning CDC or another streaming pipeline, incremental transforms, and freshness/cost trade-offs
- Experience with Snowflake or Databricks, including incremental versus full refresh, clustering, cost, scale, and lag targets
- Experience with orchestration using Airflow, Dagster, or equivalent
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment management, including isolated-schema or clone validation, downstream dependency builds, promotion after merge, rollback or deploy blocking, and success signals
- Three or more years of production Python shipped in automated pipelines
- Passion for building with and for agents; experience using frontier tooling to automate a traditional analytics workload and demonstrate outcomes, observability, governance, and scalability
- Nice to have: ontology or business entity model on a semantic layer
- Nice to have: Spark or Trino used on data that did not fit a single warehouse query
- Nice to have: fintech, payments, or another regulated environment
