About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide oversight and support to conceptual design plans during initial project development
- Support data center clients with schedules and cost estimates
- Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE
- Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports
- Perform company QA/QC processes
- Maintain relationships with external business partners
- Present information and respond to client questions
- Lead or participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
- Mentor less experienced staff on technical and project management skills
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines
- Act on behalf of project owners to bridge knowledge gaps, oversee quality, and provide technical leadership from concept development through detailed design, construction, and commissioning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's of Science or Master's in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations
- Experience with substation and data center projects
- Proficiency with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Ability to identify necessary software to complete required design work
- 5 years of AutoCAD experience
- 5 years using power systems modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, and/or EasyPower
- Strong communication skills and ability to discuss technical recommendations with customers
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and with high attention to detail
