Key responsibilities & impact- Build and run login, session, MFA, and token services
- Own SAML and OIDC integrations with customer identity providers
- Manage user lifecycle across SCIM, JIT provisioning, and deprovisioning
- Evolve centralized permissions and authorization services, including RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC models
- Define authentication and delegated least-privilege access for AI agents, MCP servers, and integrations through OAuth 2.x
- Design against account takeover and token abuse
- Implement FedRAMP identity controls and work with Security and GRC on audit evidence and vulnerabilities
- Improve reliability and observability for critical identity services
- Lead design reviews and build-versus-buy decisions
- Mentor engineers and serve as the identity expert across engineering
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 3 years building or running authentication, authorization, or identity systems in production
- Strong backend skills in C#/.NET or Java
- Deep practical knowledge of OAuth 2.0/2.1, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0
- Knowledge of grant types, JWT token formats, PKCE, token lifetimes and revocation, and assertion signing and encryption
- Hands-on experience with at least one identity provider, including enterprise SSO integrations
- Experience designing authorization models and permission services that remain correct and fast at scale
- Understanding of identity threats including token theft and replay, session fixation, CSRF, open redirects, and IdP-initiated SSO risks
- Experience building distributed services on AWS or Azure, including containers, CI/CD, and production observability
- Daily use of AI tools to understand code, generate tests, and ship faster
- Ability to explain identity trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and auditors
- Travel may be required; a valid passport is required
