Key responsibilities & impact- Create and manage server and desktop operating system images for Citrix environments
- Architect, deploy, administer, and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments
- Design and maintain Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Gateway, Director, Studio, and WEM
- Manage machine catalogs, delivery groups, pooled and dedicated desktops, and published applications
- Monitor and maintain Citrix performance, capacity, availability, and reliability
- Perform upgrades, patching, hotfix deployments, and lifecycle management
- Troubleshoot Citrix session, profile, printing, performance, application, and connectivity issues
- Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Support virtual workspace solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, including Citrix and AVD
- Manage profile management, user personalization, application virtualization, and digital workspace optimization
- Deploy, configure, secure, and support Island Enterprise Browser
- Develop browser security policies, access controls, and integrations with identity, SSO, conditional access, and security platforms
- Monitor browser health, performance, compliance, and adoption metrics
- Partner with Cybersecurity on Zero Trust and SASE initiatives
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation for Citrix, Windows, Azure, Active Directory, and endpoint administration
- Automate image deployment, application deployment, workspace provisioning, reporting, dashboards, and health checks
- Maintain automation source repositories and documentation
- Manage Azure resources, Entra ID, group policies, identity integrations, and Microsoft 365 services
- Collaborate on cloud migration and modernization initiatives
- Support Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, print servers, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, DFS, and Group Policy infrastructure
- Implement monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, security controls, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and audit support
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning
- Provide Level 3 escalation support and participate in on-call and after-hours support
- Support maintenance windows, infrastructure changes, technical documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
- Participate in project planning, implementations, technology roadmaps, and vendor management
- Provide end-user and site support when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience managing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments
- 7+ years of experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
- 3+ years of PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
- Experience administering Island Enterprise Browser or similar secure enterprise browser technologies
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory administration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid hands-on experience with Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp
- Experience installing, managing, and monitoring Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
- Solid hands-on experience with AppSense Environment, Performance, and Application Manager
- Experience with Microsoft App-V
- Experience with Microsoft MDT (Deployment Toolkit)
- Experience with Microsoft Windows PowerShell DSC (Desired State Configuration)
- Experience with Citrix AppDNA and Citrix Studio
- Experience with SCCM
- Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems 2012, 2016, and 2019
- Solid hands-on experience with Windows 7 desktop operating systems, 32/64-bit
- Understanding of Microsoft/Azure Active Directory, DNS, and DFS
- Ability to learn new applications/programs quickly
- Print server knowledge
- Ability to lift and/or move 20 pounds
- Availability for Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours, on-call as needed
