Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain backend functionalities using PHP 8.2+
- Implement new features within the core eCommerce platform and administration panel
- Refactor and modernize existing legacy PHP code
- Write clean, modular, maintainable and testable code
- Create and maintain unit and functional tests
- Work with MySQL, including writing and optimizing SQL queries without relying on an ORM
- Develop and integrate REST APIs based on OpenAPI standards
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality checks
- Debug and troubleshoot production issues using monitoring and logging tools
- Occasionally work with existing React components when implementing simple UI changes
- Collaborate closely with Tech Leads, Product Managers, QA Engineers and other developers
- Participate in requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of commercial software development experience
- Very good knowledge of PHP, preferably PHP 8.x
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
- Good knowledge of MySQL and confidence in writing SQL queries without ORM support
- Practical experience with PHPUnit and automated testing
- Experience with REST APIs and API integrations
- Knowledge of Git
- Experience working with existing and/or legacy codebases and their refactoring
- Understanding of clean code principles and software development best practices
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and clarify business and technical requirements
- English sufficient for working with technical documentation
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model in Szczecin: 3 days per week from the office and 2 days remotely
- Nice to have: experience with eCommerce platforms
- Nice to have: commercial experience with Symfony or Laravel
- Nice to have: experience with RabbitMQ or other asynchronous messaging solutions
- Nice to have: knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
- Nice to have: experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Nice to have: familiarity with OpenAPI / Swagger
- Nice to have: experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as the ELK Stack
- Nice to have: basic knowledge of React / JavaScript
- Nice to have: experience using AI-assisted development tools in everyday engineering work
