Key responsibilities & impact- Build and run the backend for an AI agent that plans multi-step requests and calls music models and audio tools
- Design evals, datasets and release gates that determine whether agent changes ship
- Make release decisions when evaluation results are noisy
- Develop data pipelines that feed the agent and its evals alongside ML engineers
- Create internal tools for running and reviewing evals
- Share on-call and launch support for a high-traffic production system
- Help new engineers ramp as the team grows
- Ship features that help users turn ideas into music
- Work alongside ML engineers, PMs and product teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–6 years building and scaling general backend systems in production
- Experience with services at scale, observability and on-call ownership
- Experience shipping and operating an LLM-powered agent or feature in production with multi-step tool calling
- Experience building evals for nondeterministic systems, such as regression sets, graders or LLM judges
- Experience using evaluation results to decide what ships
- Comfort handling ambiguity, unblocking yourself, and working with ML engineers, PMs and partner teams
- Experience with Python backends (nice-to-have)
- Experience building internal tools or dashboards in TypeScript and React (nice-to-have)
- Experience with audio, music or other media generation systems (nice-to-have)
- Experience with LLM tracing and observability tools (nice-to-have)
