About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create production documentation, including setup sheets, CNC programs in NX CAM Software, and routings
- Verify programs in Vericut
- Create cutting tools in TDM
- Develop production processes to improve performance standards
- Establish new production processes
- Provide Quality Notification disposition where required
- Create, manage, maintain, and monitor CNC processes and manufacturing documentation in NX and TCE
- Maintain, sustain, and update technical libraries of CAD/CAM systems
- Support First Pass Yield and improve quality, turnaround time, and cost through prevention
- Source and identify new cutting tools and best-practice cutting strategies
- Continuously improve CNC program generation procedures to reduce processing and First Article debug time
- Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes to reduce programming and machining time
- Communicate requirements and expectations to all stakeholders before manufacturing new part numbers
- Work with CNC programmers, engineers, production, planning, quality, engineering personnel, software suppliers, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing vendors
- Perform additional manufacturing-related assignments as directed by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Precision, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC programming experience, especially in oil and gas, automotive, ordnance, or aerospace industries
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in CNC process creation
- Strong understanding of CNC machining concepts, including machining process plans, tool selection, first article proofing, and machine tool evaluation
- Mill-Turn CNC machining process creation capability is preferable
- Knowledge of two or more machine controllers is preferable
- Detailed and strong knowledge of Unigraphics-NX CAD/CAM, NX Post software, Vericut, and other simulation software
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T requirements
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools and fixturing
- Good interpersonal, planning, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on varied and complex tasks without direct supervision
- Knowledge of Teamcenter or equivalent PLM applications
- Basic knowledge of Quality and HSE Management systems
- Basic SAP knowledge is an advantage
