About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start, operate, and stop mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and computer equipment according to established standards and specifications
- Implement corrective action for process and equipment out-of-control situations
- Operate analytical equipment within established methods, standards, and specifications
- Gather and record process data from instrumentation
- Maintain equipment, tools, and company property
- Assist with receiving, shipment, and inventory of materials
- Participate in required training programs
- Assist contractors, maintenance crews, and others performing facility work
- Perform work necessary to isolate equipment such as pumps, vessels, and lines
- Monitor quality assurance equipment and address product quality nonconformance
- Perform final product packaging according to quality specifications and standards
- Operate facility equipment safely and in environmental compliance while adhering to operating procedures and safety measures
- Seek ways to improve plant operations and meet internal and external customer needs
- Adhere to the quality system
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent experience in a chemical plant/refinery environment
- Good math, problem solving skills and computer skills
- General knowledge of distillation and reaction processes, chemical hazards, OSHA and EPA regulations, and mechanical equipment preferred
- High School diploma or GED
- Chemistry and math proficiency required
- Ability to work changing shifts and work schedules
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
