Key responsibilities & impact- Own and manage electrical commodities/subcategories including cables, harnesses, capacitors, connectors, PCB/PCBA, and chips
- Execute supplier production strategies from new product introduction through full production
- Vet suppliers’ production capabilities, factory layout, facilities, and workforce for Approved Supplier List inclusion
- Support Product Sourcing Engineers, Global Strategic Sourcing Management, and Supplier Quality Engineers in supplier quality adherence
- Bring up new production tooling and lines at supplier sites
- Ensure materials, processes, and tools meet product performance, quality, and demand requirements
- Own supplier capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up
- Establish and drive statistical process control reviews at suppliers
- Identify and drive product and process improvements and factory layout optimization
- Reduce part cost and supply risk, eliminate defects, and improve cycle time
- Support root-cause task forces and close corrective/preventive actions at suppliers
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, manufacturing departments, and suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with specific category technical expertise, as applicable, electronics manufacturing, SMT processing, GD&T
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-pace, start-up environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
