Key responsibilities & impact- Support mission-critical NCMC-ITW/AA and CCIC2S enterprise network programs for NORAD and national defense missions
- Participate as a member of a government-run agile scenario development team
- Analyze simulation requirements and recommend appropriate design levels within cost and time parameters
- Interact with government team leads and vendors regarding simulation improvements and maintenance
- Coordinate installation and removal of simulations
- Develop applications using scientific and mathematical models for design consequence prediction, data analysis, simulation validation, and data reduction
- Create and modify scenarios and analytical tools for test communities
- Attend agile meetings, including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and program increment planning
- Analyze and decompose user requirements into sprint-ready tasks
- Build and document test cases and conduct statistically significant testing and analysis
- Write modular, documented code and provide source code using industry best practices
- Develop test plans, test reports, test procedures, data analysis plans, scenario documents, verification and validation reports, and training documents
- Present or support results briefings
- Establish and document simulation requirements and performance expectations
- Develop user-friendly GUI-based toolsets using languages such as Python 3 and MATLAB
- Interface with test and operational personnel to ensure solutions meet user needs
- Coordinate with government team members and reuse existing tools and scenarios where possible
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations approximately 10–20% as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and be eligible for TS
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical discipline, including five (5) years of DoD experience; OR Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical discipline, including five (5) years of DoD experience
- Proficient in Java, Perl, Visual Basic, C Family, SQL, Python 3, and MATLAB
- Experience with the full software development life cycle from requirements elicitation to deployment
- Experience with software engineering principles and industry best practices, including agile development
- Advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability in the technical/professional discipline as a Senior Software Engineer
- Ability to oversee and guide junior and mid-level engineers
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of DevSecOps processes and solutions
- Experience with virtualization and containerization platforms and software
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
