About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install, configure and maintain network hosts and services including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN endpoints
Perform network maintenance and upgrades, including occasional evening or weekend work
Troubleshoot network issues and outages
Participate in global production and corporate network infrastructure, including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP and CDN infrastructure
Handle multiple vendor switches on servers for hardware and software issues
Handle traffic and queries raised by ISPs and partners
Provide support for incidents such as input errors, CRC and RMA
Work directly with ISPs and vendors to resolve network issues
Apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues of moderate scope
Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Full understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, Active Directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications
Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships
Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Ability to perform office-related tasks, including prolonged sitting or standing
Ability to move from place to place within an office environment
Ability to use a computer
Ability to communicate effectively
