Key responsibilities & impact- Drive the overall software development lifecycle across functional teams, from requirements to features, development management, testing, and maintenance
- Translate user requirements and needs into technical specifications
- Write code and manage preparation of design specifications
- Support system design and advise on security requirements
- Debug business systems and service applications
- Apply algorithms, data structures, programming languages, tools, standards, and software platforms to develop technology applications and services
- Analyze, develop, test, and implement software programs
- Document software development lifecycle execution
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of system and core software components
- Ensure code and configurations meet security, logging, error-handling, performance, and non-functional requirements
- Evaluate new technologies and assess upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk
- Follow release management processes and standards and apply version controls
- Assist with interpreting and documenting client requirements
- Serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders at group/enterprise-wide level
- Address complex and non-routine problems creatively
- Implement changes in response to shifting trends
- Apply BMO's Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy, policies, laws, and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–7 years of development experience on the Salesforce Lightning platform (PaaS)
- Proficiency in metadata-driven development, declarative development, Lightning Web Components, Apex programming, Aura, Flows, Page Layout, Validation Rules, Custom Controls, triggers, and APIs
- 2–3 years of Salesforce Administration experience with security, profiles, permission sets, custom permissions, and access management
- 2–3 years of experience with relational databases, SQL, SOQL, and SOSL
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate proficiency in creative thinking, relationship building and management, and emotional agility
- Advanced proficiency in quality assurance and testing, cloud computing, microservices, technology business requirements definition, analysis and mapping, adaptability, learning agility, programming, applications integration, test-driven development, system development lifecycle, troubleshooting, system and technology integration, verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, collaboration and team skills, ambiguity management, and data-driven decision making
- Salesforce or Fusion Certification is a plus
- Scripting experience on SQL databases is nice to have
- Hands-on experience with data integration with Salesforce objects is a plus
- Experience in Python, HTML, Java, or JIRA is a plus
- Experience in Fusion Risk Management is a plus
- Understanding of Excel and Power Query is nice to have; Macros, VBAs, and Power BI are a plus
