Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and verify lifecycle-balanced systems of systems and system solutions
- Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements
- Integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces
- Perform analyses to optimize system-of-systems and system architecture
- Analyze affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, security, regulatory, certification, and product assurance factors
- Develop and monitor requirements management, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes
- Resolve cross-functional technical issues
- Define and update measures of effectiveness to support system-level trades
- Maintain system-level budgets and allocate requirements across subsystems
- Use and develop software tools for constellation-level task scheduling and resource apportionment
- Characterize system performance through capacity and availability analysis
- Create models with sufficient complexity for system-level analysis
- Design and analyze communication systems, including link analysis, modulation, and coding
- Build, execute, and present system-level analyses for space-based systems
- Participate throughout the system development lifecycle, from concept development through operations support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Systems engineering experience involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification
- Experience with at least one high-level software development language, such as MATLAB, Python, or C++
- Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education
- Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience simulating satellite digital communications systems link effects
- Experience simulating satellite orbital design and transforming satellite to reference frames
- Experience with MATLAB or Python, and C++ or Java
- Experience with MBSE, SysML, NoMagic Cameo, and creating models
- Experience in customer requirements development, system requirements, and CONOPs development
- Experience with digital communications systems design and analysis, including link analysis, modulation, and coding
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with a focus in satellite communication design
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person
- Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance required; U.S. citizenship required
