Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and operate core AWS infrastructure, including VPCs, EKS/ECS, IAM, networking, and data services
- Define SLOs, error budgets, and runbooks for cloud workloads
- Lead incident response and durable root-cause remediation
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and GitOps pipelines
- Eliminate manual provisioning and operational toil through automation
- Design and implement multi-account AWS organization strategies using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and SCPs
- Instrument cloud infrastructure with metrics, tracing, alerting, and cost visibility using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch
- Automate provisioning, scaling, patching, and lifecycle management
- Partner with security, networking, and platform teams on cloud security architecture, identity federation, and network reliability
- Evaluate and adopt AWS-native and third-party tooling to improve developer experience and infrastructure efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles with a strong software engineering foundation
- Deep, hands-on AWS expertise; ability to architect complex multi-region, multi-account environments
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent practical depth required
- Expert-level Terraform; experience with Atlantis or similar GitOps workflows
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar
- Proven Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS, including cluster lifecycle, networking, CNI, service mesh, and workload reliability
- Deep understanding of AWS networking, including VPC design, peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, security groups, and NACLs
- Experience with AWS IAM at scale, including role design, permission boundaries, OIDC federation, and least-privilege enforcement
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and AI-assisted automation for triage, incident response, or operational workflows
- Strong incident command skills and experience owning production outages end-to-end and writing postmortems
- Experience with AWS cost optimization at scale
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks in a cloud context
- Experience in GPU/ML infrastructure or high-performance computing workloads on AWS
- Experience running on-call rotations, defining SLOs, and driving operational maturity
- Experience supporting highly technical engineering populations where uptime and speed matter
