Key responsibilities & impact- Design, optimize, support and automate cloud infrastructure supporting business platforms
- Formulate and carry out cloud infrastructure designs primarily in AWS and Azure, including ancillary, on-premises and hybrid services
- Support automated build methodologies for resource provisioning, hardening, PaaS offerings, load balancer rules and firewall policies
- Own engineering efforts for multiple concurrent projects, collaborating with business owners, product teams and application teams
- Maintain installation and configuration procedures and automate these processes
- Provide cross-training and mentoring to team members and develop shared knowledge of leveraged tools
- Establish and support technical policies and procedures with management and technical peers
- Provide procedures to operational teams and ensure they remain accurate and understood
- Drive compliance and security efforts for team-managed systems
- Improve infrastructure service stability and availability
- Work with Project Managers and Infrastructure Coordinators on project progress, issues and solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
- Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments
- 5–7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience
- Experience with enterprise repositories, namely GitHub Enterprise
- Experience with deployment management and CI/CD pipelines, namely through Jenkins and Harness
- Experience with multiple active scripting languages
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, especially Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python
- Strong knowledge of multiple flavors of Linux and Windows Server
- Experience administering Linux and Windows Server through scripted/automated processes
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy
- Understanding of virtual environments, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, vCAC and VDIs
- Working knowledge of implementing automation orchestration across all lifecycle environments
- Understanding of configuration management and software deployment principles
- Experience with network principles and architecture is a bonus
- Experience with enterprise monitoring solutions is a bonus
- Experience with storage technologies, principles and SANs is a bonus
- Excellent communication skills
- Track record and understanding of full ownership of tasks, projects and responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven troubleshooting methodology
- Willingness to work off-hours, including on-call schedules and project release windows
- Willingness to provide innovative ideas and solutions
- Good organization, task and time management skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship
