Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional nursing care according to American Nurses Association standards and the ANA Code of Ethics
- Provide clinical care in correctional settings at Downtown Detention Center or Denver County Jail
- Apply critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and clinical competence to promote patient safety and quality outcomes
- Provide infant, pediatric, and adult clinical care
- Provide preventive, emergent, crisis-response, triage, acute-care, behavioral-health, eating-disorder, oncology, and IV-therapy care
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate reports and records
- Develop and modify patient care and treatment plans
- Coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
- Monitor diet and physical activity
- Direct and supervise less-skilled nursing and healthcare personnel
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations and treatments
- Assess individuals, families, and communities for potential health or safety problems
- Provide health education, disease prevention, and aftercare instruction
- Administer nursing care and medications, including documentation and reassessment
- Perform Lead/Relief Charge Nurse duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree Required
- One year experience in a direct patient care setting Required
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/Process/Performance and accrediting body standards
- Completed and met clinical competency standards
- Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Microsoft Office Suite required
- EPIC documentation preferred
