Key responsibilities & impact- Lead feature design end to end, creating user flows, interactions, and states
- Conduct user research, customer interviews, and usability tests
- Create visual designs and interactive prototypes
- Build interactive prototypes and accessible, production-ready front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and React
- Use AI-powered tools for research, design exploration, prototyping, and front-end development
- Design trustworthy, transparent, and controllable AI and agentic experiences
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to turn validated designs into production-ready features
- Use and contribute to Neon One’s design system in design files and code
- Apply WCAG 2.1 AA standards, including keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen reader support
- Review and refine implemented designs for consistency, usability, and quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback to improve the product
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in product design, design engineering, or a hybrid design and front-end development role
- Strong design skills across user flows, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping
- Working proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with modern frameworks such as React or Vue
- Familiarity with version control and code review
- Experience with Figma or similar tools
- Experience using and contributing to design systems and component libraries in both design files and code
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, including AI coding tools, to support design and development
- Foundational UX research skills, including usability testing and incorporating feedback into design decisions
- Working knowledge of WCAG and assistive technology testing
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end process, from research through shipped outcomes, including work built in code
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with Product Managers and Engineers
- Legally authorized to work and based in the United States or Canada
