Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, and deploy software supporting engine test automation and data acquisition
- Maintain and support existing software solutions and tools
- Diagnose software and hardware issues quickly
- Implement clean, maintainable, well-documented code following internal standards and best practices
- Integrate instrumentation and hardware interfaces into software systems
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of software releases
- Collaborate with test engineers and internal customers to gather requirements and deliver functional software solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in laboratory environments involving software and hardware systems
- Support engine testing on call when systems fail in the field
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Software coding experience in 2 or more languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
- 4+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle, including validation and verification
- Familiarity with basic Linux/Unix command line tools
- Experience testing software applications in open- and closed-loop environments
- 4+ years with data structures and SQL databases
- 4+ years of experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP and OPC UA
- 4+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
- Knowledge of software configuration management and Software Quality Assurance tools such as Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and/or Subversion
- U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status under asylum or refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction in a cross-functional team environment
- Willingness to respond quickly with quality solutions
- Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, or technologies
