Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain Core Software architectures and applications for aerospace and avionics systems
- Integrate Flight Management System (FMS) software into product development programs
- Ensure functionality and compliance with system requirements and certification standards
- Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to define software requirements, specifications, and technical solutions
- Develop software solutions meeting performance, reliability, security, safety, and scalability objectives
- Lead or participate in software requirements, design, and code reviews
- Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members
- Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting on hardware test benches
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through analysis and debugging
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and software engineering best practices
- Contribute to technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- 5-8+ years of experience in software development
- Strong C++ and/or object-oriented programming skills
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
- Strong software architecture and design development skills
- U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization
- Experience in Flight Management Systems (FMS) development, including avionics software design, integration, and verification
- Strong expertise in multi-core and multi-threaded software development, including concurrency, synchronization, performance optimization, and real-time systems
- Experience managing and/or mentoring teams developing embedded software systems for safety-critical environments
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations, such as DO-178C
