About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain a cycle-accurate approximate transaction-level model of compute tiles, memory hierarchy, and interconnect using SystemC, C++, or Python
  • Translate TLM and RTL results combined with physical design into calibrated latency, bandwidth, energy, utilization, and occupancy parameters for end-to-end AI workload performance prediction
  • Provide the TLM as a reference golden model for design verification, including transaction-level scoreboards and performance checks
  • Collaborate with DV and RTL teams to ensure RTL produces desired behavior and the TLM accurately reflects the RTL
  • Plan modeling work against the hardware roadmap
  • Run sensitivity studies on buffer sizes, interface widths, scheduling policies, and bus configurations
  • Turn modeling results into recommendations for architecture and hardware teams
  • Correlate TLM against RTL, FPGA prototypes, and synthesis results
  • Work closely with architecture, hardware design, and DV teams to refine the end-to-end system

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in performance modeling at a major semiconductor company
  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding architectures and transforming them into performant modeling code
  • Use of various modeling techniques and languages
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience with AI acceleration hardware (bonus)
  • Experience with architecture-level modeling and cost tools such as AccelForge, Timeloop/Accelergy, CACTI, McPAT, or gem6 (bonus)
  • Experience with DV methodology (bonus)
  • Hands-on use of LLMs or agentic tools in development workflows (bonus)
  • Exposure to analog, mixed-signal, or unconventional compute (bonus)
  • Experience with memory interfaces including LPDDR, HBM, and DDR, and other I/O (bonus)

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Equal Employment Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion
  • Reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities
