About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat disease
- Consult with physicians, nurses, patients, and patients’ families concerning treatment and care, transmission risks, prophylaxis, and precautions
- Refer cases to specialists as indicated while maintaining continuity of care
- Provide medical direction to healthcare staff
- Assist in developing and implementing education, training, and in-service programs for healthcare staff
- Perform various administrative duties and participate in committees
- Maintain patient records according to hospital policies and procedures
- Remain a member of the active staff of hospitals
- Provide call coverage
- Travel frequently to worksites in the New Orleans metropolitan area
Requirements
What you’ll need- M.D. or D.O.
- License to practice medicine in Louisiana
- Completion of an interventional radiology fellowship
