Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, enhance, and optimize medium- and high-complexity data pipelines
- Build scalable solutions for ingesting, transforming, and processing large volumes of data
- Develop solutions using Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, and Databricks
- Work with Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse architectures
- Define partitioning, processing, and performance optimization strategies
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes and distributed processing solutions
- Investigate and resolve critical issues related to data processing, performance, and quality
- Implement monitoring, observability, and data quality mechanisms
- Apply best practices for security, governance, and data protection
- Participate in technical decisions, standards definition, and the evolution of solution architectures
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical support to Junior- and Mid-level professionals
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Development, and business teams
- Support technical estimates, planning, and delivery tracking
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Data Engineering processes, standards, and solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid experience in Data Engineering, preferably 5 or more years
- Experience with highly complex projects and large volumes of data
- Advanced Python
- Advanced SQL
- Advanced Spark/PySpark
- Hands-on experience with Databricks
- Experience with ETL/ELT and distributed processing
- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or equivalent orchestration tools
- Knowledge of Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse architectures
- Knowledge of data modeling
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD
- Experience with APIs and systems integration
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and quality
- Experience optimizing and tuning data pipelines and processes
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification
- Preferred qualifications: experience with Delta Lake; knowledge of Databricks Workflows; knowledge of Unity Catalog; experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or other streaming technologies; knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC); Azure and/or Databricks certifications; experience in the financial or banking sector; experience working in large-scale, business-critical environments
