About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum
- Assess patients' physical condition and nursing needs using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Develop and coordinate plans of care with patients and interprofessional teams
- Deliver age-appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific professional RN care
- Improve patient experience, streamline care processes, lower costs, and promote quality
- Contribute to mentoring, engagement, and professional development of clinical staff
- Consult with physicians and interprofessional team members to solve problems and improve patient care
- Anticipate and proactively manage risks to prevent crises
- Perform skillfully in life-threatening emergencies
- Communicate frequently by phone with patients and staff; calls are recorded and monitored for quality assurance, training, and compliance
- Work a four-week rotation on Wednesdays and Fridays, generally 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with a Week 2 Friday schedule of 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to move freely, including standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
- Compliance with department-specific competencies
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, sharp objects, chemicals, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, pharmacological agents, and aggressive or combative patients
