About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum
- Utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to assess patients and develop collaborative care plans
- Plan patient care with the interprofessional team to achieve high-quality clinical outcomes
- Provide age-appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific professional RN care
- Improve the patient experience, streamline care processes, lower costs, and promote quality
- Contribute to a professional environment supporting mentoring, engagement, and clinician development
- Consult with physicians and interprofessional team members to problem-solve and improve patient care
- Anticipate and proactively manage risks to prevent crises
- Perform skillfully during life-threatening emergencies
- Work the scheduled part-time Tuesday or Thursday shift, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling)
- Ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds without assistance
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
- Compliance with department-specific competencies
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to blood-borne pathogens, sharp objects, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, pharmacological agents, and occasional aggressive or combative patients
- Frequent phone communication with patients and staff; calls are recorded and monitored for quality assurance, training, and compliance
- BSN preferred
