About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Function as an advisor for Clubhouse members
Assess, develop, and implement Action Plans with members in their chosen work area
Promote a supportive and empowering services environment
Teach, coach, facilitate, and support skill development across Clubhouse work areas
Provide meaningful work opportunities and encourage participation in work area activities
Communicate and reinforce Clubhouse culture and philosophy with members, providers, community resources, and employer partners
Help develop, implement, and support Clubhouse policies and procedures
Assist members in connecting with community services and resources
Maintain member and program records according to Massachusetts Department of Mental Health documentation standards
Support members with documenting Action Plan progress
Attend trainings, conferences, staff meetings, supervision, and professional development activities
Assist with orientation of new staff and members
Maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers
Help maintain the physical site and provide general upkeep
Plan and participate in Clubhouse events
Provide coverage and assistance for onsite and offsite program activities and work units
Provide occasional weekend, evening, and holiday coverage
Perform other related duties as required
For Clubhouse Counselor II roles, provide expertise or leadership in one or more specialized work areas

Requirements

What you’ll need

One to three years experience in human services field required
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, rehabilitation counseling, special education, or related is preferred
Advanced training, experience, or professional credentials are required for Clubhouse Counselor II positions
In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training
CPR required within two weeks of hire
First Aid required within two weeks of hire
Crisis Intervention/Staff Safety and Infectious Diseases required within 6 months of employment
Other training, as assigned
Clubhouse Counselor II Health and Wellness positions must complete training and pass ServSafe exam within 6 months of hire
Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle
Personal vehicle users must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record
Valid US driver's license required at employment; incumbents must be at least 21 years old, have maintained it for at least six months, and pass a driver's screening background check
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, and assist clients with daily living tasks
Ability to operate computers and office equipment
Ability to communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives
Knowledge of Clubhouse standards and practices, Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, assessment and documentation, empowerment, self-advocacy, peer support, community resources, computer applications, reasonable accommodation law, crisis intervention, and problem-solving
Participatory, collaborative, teaching, organizational, writing, and teamwork skills
Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues
