About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Perform fieldwork independently and collaboratively in all weather conditions
- Provide drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation
- Conduct groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, in-situ remediation, remediation-system operation and maintenance, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys
- Oversee subcontractors and prepare subcontracts
- Take extensive and detailed field notes
- Coordinate and communicate with Project Managers and office staff
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Coordinate tasks and compile and interpret data
- Prepare health and safety plans
- Review regulatory files and write proposals
- Develop project strategies and manage schedules and budgets
- Conduct soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling
- Travel regionally for fieldwork
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA or BS in Environmental Science, Geology or related field
- 2+ years experience in the field is preferred
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training is preferred
- Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience is preferred
- Good driving record
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods
- Ability to work at project sites with environmental media impacted by hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods
- Ability to perform regional business travel up to 1–2 days per week on average
