  • Own product engineering, QA, DevOps and cloud, data, and infrastructure.
  • Lead a production team of 20+ engineers, testers, product and platform staff.
  • Set priorities, delivery cadence, and metrics including velocity, quality, release predictability, and cost per product line.
  • Keep the mission-critical on-premises estate secure, supported, and compliant.
  • Establish programme governance with owners, plans, budgets, and monthly reporting to the MD.
  • Own reliability, incident response, postmortems, and support escalation.
  • Build a small, senior, AI-native engineering team using AI-assisted development.
  • Rebuild the core product as a best-in-class cloud platform targeting the number-one position in the UK market.
  • Set architecture, write and review code as needed, and set engineering standards.
  • Make AI development tools part of daily engineering work across legacy and new teams.
  • Own migration strategy for the installed customer base, including sequencing, integration, and data migration.
  • Maintain NHS integrations, accreditations, and clinical-safety obligations during migration.
  • Consolidate hosting and infrastructure and reduce customers' hardware and network footprint.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years leading teams.

  • Personally, led a migration of paying customers from on premises to multi-tenant SaaS.
  • Strong Microsoft stack background: C#/.NET, SQL Server, Azure; able to assess legacy C++ and .NET Framework code.
  • Using AI development tools in your daily work is expected; able to maximize their value for yourself and your team and demonstrate delivery impact.
  • Track record of hard calls: restructuring teams, stopping failing projects, managing R&D to a P&L.
  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly and root them in commercial rationale.
