Key responsibilities & impact- Research, design, develop, secure, and build solutions facilitating communications with over 2 million globally deployed Automox software agents
- Own significant features and services end to end, from technical design through production release and operation, including the related UI
- Champion secure coding and modern software development best practices across engineering
- Extend, enhance, and evolve event-driven services for features in the Automox platform and endpoint software
- Contribute through testing, performance tuning, refactoring, usability improvements, and automation
- Produce detailed specifications and contribute across the engineering lifecycle
- Apply a quality-first mindset and establish strong testing practices
- Partner with Product, Program Management, QE, and Technical Support to turn ambiguous problems into deliverable work
- Make data-driven development decisions before changes reach production
- Coach and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in Go or Java; versatility across languages
- Experience working as a Software Engineer on applications with continuous client connectivity
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and monitoring applications deployed in a high availability SaaS environment
- Secure Coding experience such as experience with OWASP
- Experience building production applications in cloud environments (AWS) with a strong emphasis on security best practices
- Professional experience shipping frontend features in a modern JavaScript framework using TypeScript
- Experience working as a Software Engineer on applications with continuous client connectivity is desired
- Familiarity with scaling microservices, large-scale event ingestion platforms, websockets, real-time messaging systems (Kafka, MQTT), non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, networking, and DevOps
- Ability to communicate effectively within a tightly knit, cross-functional remote team environment
- Strong leadership skills coaching and mentoring more junior engineers
- Experience with software running on customer endpoints across macOS, Windows, or Linux is nice to have
- Experience writing automated end-to-end tests using Python, Playwright, or similar is nice to have
- Must be able to pass a federal, state, county background check
- Complete a local in-person verification
