Key responsibilities & impact- Research, design, develop, secure, and deliver solutions facilitating communication with more than 2 million Automox agents deployed globally
- Extend, enhance, and evolve event-driven services for new features in the Automox platform and endpoint software
- Contribute to continuous improvement through testing, performance tuning, refactoring, usability improvements, and automation
- Evaluate technical options, make clear recommendations, and move forward while inviting feedback and iteration
- Apply a quality-first mindset and establish strong testing practices
- Make data-driven development decisions and assess impact before production
- Work with engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, and Technical Support
- Participate in service ownership, including understanding cost profiles, failure modes, and operational behavior
- Contribute to significant technical decisions through the Architecture Review Board as experience grows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Programming experience in Golang or Java is preferred, although polyglots will be considered; versatility writing and developing software in a variety of languages
- 3–5 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and monitoring applications deployed in a high availability SaaS environment
- Professional experience shipping frontend features in a modern JavaScript framework using TypeScript
- Comfortable owning the UI half of a feature built on the backend
- Experience building production applications in cloud environments, especially AWS
- Strong emphasis on security best practices
- Familiarity with scaling microservice architectures and large-scale event ingestion platforms
- Familiarity with scaling WebSockets and real-time messaging systems such as Kafka and MQTT
- Familiarity with non-relational database systems such as DynamoDB
- Familiarity with DevOps
- Ability to pass a federal, state, and county background check
- Ability to complete a local in-person verification
- Must be able to work in the United States; Automox is not able to sponsor work visas
- California and New York metro residents are not eligible for hiring
- Excellent communication and collaboration in a cross-functional remote team environment
